Abu Nuwar

Set Design - Stopmotion / Abu Nowar / 2018

Surrounded by a complex reality, the kids at Abu Nuwar’s community rebuild their school, frame by frame!

Using materials from their environment (steel sheets, cardboard, rocks and dirt, the kids at Abu Nuwar build a set inspired by their own community. The kids then use the set to create an animated scene, the scene was shot outdoors, using natural light and the real background showing a settlement.

The kids also created a manual camera slider mechanism, which enabled them to create a camera track movement following the action in the shot, and displaying the set.
